From the Principal

Dear Parkview Families,

Thank you to all of the families who came to our family math nights last week for kindergarten, first and second grade! We had a great turn out and we hope you enjoy practicing those fun games with your children!

Next week, we have a short week with no school on Thursday and Friday due to MEA teacher convention break.

The weather is getting colder. Please be sure your child has layers and warm clothes for recess every day. All children really want to play outside and it is a lot more fun when they are not cold. Please help them to be prepared for the changing weather.

Families can still purchase the Optional iPad Protection Plan through MyPaymentsPlus. Please see the link below for the original document with information. Although the dates are expired, you may still purchase this plan and we encourage families to do so as it result in savings for families if you do encounter a repair for your child.

Optional iPad Protection Plan - Families Can Still Sign Up

Protect your child's iPad against theft or accidental damage for $20.

A reduced fee is available for families who qualify for the Educational Benefits Program (formerly known as the free and reduced lunch program), so it is highly recommended to apply online for that program first in order to have the discount applied when purchasing the protection plan.

Prior to the COVID pandemic, District 196 offered an optional Protection Plan to families for $20 per iPad to cover the cost of potential theft/damage throughout the school year.  Due to the financial impact the pandemic had on many families, the district decided to temporarily waive the $20 enrollment fee for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years. Moving forward, we are reinstating the optional Protection Plan for the 2022-23 school year for all district-issued iPads.

Beginning this school year, families will again be responsible for any costs associated with repairs or replacement of iPads assigned to your child(ren).  To help protect you from unexpected expenditures, an optional Protection Plan is available for $20 per iPad.

You can still enroll in the iPad Protection Plan by logging into the parent/guardian MyPaymentsPlus account. Search for “iPad” and select one of the two options presented: to accept the protection plan or to decline it. Both options include the Student User Agreement for review and acknowledgement. Click here for directions on using MyPaymentsPlus or creating an account.  While you must officially accept or decline the protection plan via MyPaymentsPlus, you can preview what the plan does and does not cover here.
