Order Our First-Ever FCAR Calendar Now! |
|
Our Forever Changed calendar project is going strong! We are so grateful to all who submitted photos for our calendar, and all who donated through voting for your favorite pictures! We received 88 photo entries — all showcasing our FCAR alums — and 365 votes via donation.
Here’s the best news: Those votes add up to a total of $1,825 in donations! All proceeds from the calendar fundraiser will go toward replenishing FCAR's medical fund so we can continue to save more animals in need.
We are pleased to unveil our inaugural FCAR calendar (17" x 11" hanging, 8.5" x 11" closed) here. The top 12 photo vote-getters are featured on the monthly pages, and EVERY dog whose photo was submitted is pictured on the calendar’s cover collage. We expect that the sight of all these happy pups on our FCAR calendar will keep us happy all year long!
The photos will also be featured in the Happy Tails section of our website in coming weeks.
Order your very own FCAR 2023 calendar now! Don’t forget to order some as gifts for family and friends, too. Simply click on this order form. In order to receive your calendar in time for the holidays, be sure to submit and complete your order by NOVEMBER 21! |
Our FCAR Love Stories |
All of our pups and kitties are special, and they all came into our lives when we needed them the most, even if we didn't know it at the time. The love we share with our pets is so strong and fierce that we are forever changed by them. Thank-you to everyone who submitted their love stories for the Petco Love grant program! We would love to share your stories with our FCAR community in our newsletters starting with this issue. Our first love story is below: |
| Dulce (formerly Luna) — adopted April, 2022Dulce not only rescued my family's heart after losing a dear family dog. She rescues the heart of everyone she meets. She has helped shy and timid animals come out of their shell and is officially an emotional support animal. Her small but mighty personality brightens up anyone's day as she graces anyone she meets with sweet kisses and lots of love. We truly adore our rescue pup and are so glad we found her! Thank you FCAR! |

2 Pups’ Stories End with Very ‘Happy Tails’ |
Since our last newsletter, so many of our pups found their loving forever homes. But we wanted to take a moment to highlight two pups that many of our followers have gotten to know over the last few months. |
| Buddy was dumped in a high-kill shelter in Texas as a senior dog who was heartworm-positive. It meant that he had zero chance of making it out alive, so the people at the shelter reached out to ask if we could help. After being in multiple foster homes and waiting for over a year and a half, Buddy recently FINALLY found the perfect home where he is appreciated for being himself. His dad has devoted the time Buddy needed to get acclimated to his new home and to feel safe. Buddy is now the most relaxed we have ever seen him! Our hearts are so full that he is finally home. Congratulations, Buddy! |
| | Jake and Maggie were the famous duo that came to us from Kentucky. Sweet Jake (at left in the photo) gave Maggie a sense of security and protection when she was unable to open her mouth. After Maggie fully recovered from her surgery, Jake was ready to find his forever home on his own. His foster parents took him in, not expecting to fall deeply and madly in love with him. But after a few days, it was clear that Jake was here to stay! He now lives happily ever after with his new big bro Rugby. |

Seeking Fosters and Adopters! |
We’re spotlighting three great pups below, and there are plenty more! To see more dogs available or to apply to foster or adopt, please visit our website, foreverchangedar.org. |
| Cocolo (at left) and Alli (at right) are in desperate need of a foster home. Or better yet, a permanent FOREVER home! These girls do not need to be adopted or fostered together. Alli and Cocolo came into our care when they we’re only 3-4 weeks old after their mom was killed by a pack of stray dogs in Texas. Their amazing foster bottle-raised the tiny orphans. Cocolo and Alli are great with other dogs, friendly with people, and even great with cats as well! They are about three months old now, and cannot wait to find their forever families. |

| Scout is an adorable 6-month-old bulldog/hound mix. She loves to be cuddled and enjoys any and every toy she is given. She finds chasing tennis balls to be the most amusing activity in the world! Scout is potty-trained and crate-trained, and sleeps through the night. She has the funniest personality and does so many things that crack up her foster family. She absolutely LOVES belly rubs. Scout loves her foster fur brother and is good with calm, gentle kids. She is a sensitive pup, and she can be initially hesitant around new people but will warm up quickly! |
