Being an author can bring you some rad connections!

I hope you're having a good fall. I don't know why it's taken eight months to hit me that I'm now one degree away from vegan Olympian Dotsie Bausch, but it just did! 🤩

I've recorded about 5 pod episodes I can't wait to share with you, but in the meantime check out my news release Marketing News Canada shared—this is the first official marketing media outlet that's reported on my book!

If you're in Vancouver, please save the date for my book signing, Saturday, November 5, 12 to 4pm at Friend and Faux (beneath Vegan Supply in Chinatown), 250 E Pender Street. I'll also be doing a reading and signing in another city an hour's drive from Vancouver, so I'll share those details when I have them!
My first in-person interview!

Thanks to a friend and former classmate who is now a teacher at my old high school, I was interviewed by a Grade 10 student, Gabriella, for the student newspaper!

This is very full circle as I once wrote for the newspaper when I was a student and it was only in hard copy format. Now it's called Green Ink and is primarily digital. I'll share the piece with you when it's online!
I also want to shoutout Jenny at Rock Chocs in South Wales, UK, for placing my first retail order! If you run a retail or ecommerce store and would like to purchase books at the author price, hit reply and I can send you an invoice and get them shipped in time for my November 1st launch!

As always, if you know a member of the media or a podcast host who might want to have me on as a guest, please hit reply or forward my media kit. Know any folks at Forbes, Insider, Entrepreneur, Inc., Adweek, or Marketing Week? Holler!

If you've got my ebook in your hands, please review the book where you bought it and share the screenshot with me!

#DYK Marketing tip

Releasing a book is a good excuse to get on podcasts. But if you haven't hired a publicist to help you get featured on podcasts and in media, how do you find them? Here are two amazing resources I've been using:

  1. Vegan Visibility has a podcast directory of 110+ plant-based and vegan podcasts. Remember, you're not going to be an ideal guest for ALL of them, but you can at least follow and support them if you identify as vegan or run a vegan business.
  2. PodcastGuests.com is a great platform for podcasters and guests to meet each other.

Join next week's FREE Vegan Visibility Roundtable!

Vegan identified service-based companies are on the rise, with many vegans preferring to do business with vegan-owned businesses.

According to LiveKindly, the number of people who identify as vegans has jumped 3000% in the last 15 years. Additionally, the worldwide vegan food market grew from $14.44 billion in 2020 to $15.77 billion in 2021. (OpenPR)

This is an incredible growth trend. Yet, many of these very businesses struggle to be seen by potential customers and clients.

If you’re a vegan entrepreneur who wants to increase market reach, you’re invited to the first of its kind, Vegan Visibility Roundtable. Featuring four marketing & publicity experts (some of whom you'll be familiar with), this is a free event taking place on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 2–3pm PT/5–6pm ET. Register below!

Book Endorsement

I cannot thank Katrina Fox enough. Not just for the fab endorsement of my book below, but for running VIVAS (previously a network for vegan women) and launching Vegan Ventures, the FIRST book in the world about vegan business. When I had the idea for my book, I read hers first because I knew there was NO book out there about vegan marketing. Her case study format was exactly what I was thinking of doing for my book, and she even had a few chapters about marketing. Because she did it, I thought hey, I can do it too. I met several contributors to my book through Katrina's network in addition to my book coach Mitali Deypurkaystha and editor Carole Audet. You're the best, Katrina!
