Dear Friends in Christ,
“Whoever drinks beer, he is quick to sleep; whoever sleeps long, does not sin; whoever does not sin, enters Heaven! Thus, let us drink beer!” - Martin Luther
In light of this fairly cheeky quote from Martin Luther, I hope that you are all planning on joining us (and bringing friends!) for Beer and Hymns on Friday, October 21st from 6:00-8:00pm. The event promises to be a night full of the Spirit (and spirits) as Chant Claire and Dick Stoll lead us in a raucous night of fellowship and singing God’s praises. The first half of the night will include a mix of congregational tunes and solo pieces led by Chant Claire. At intermission, we shall recess to the Auditorium where people can get drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available) and pretzels. Then we’ll gather around a piano in the center of the room and Dick Stoll will be taking requests for the remainder of the evening.
The event serves as a fundraiser for our Fearless and Faithful campaign as we work towards turning the Auditorium into a space where our neighbors can be fed regularly regardless of their economic status. The cost of the event is $20 and each person will receive two drink tickets. You can purchase tickets by following this link or pick them up at the door. Additionally, we’ll have five jars labeled with classic hymns that people can donate cash and spare change towards with the hymn that raises the most being played at the end of the night.
Looking forward to seeing you there and meeting the friends and family you bring along with you!
Peace and God Bless,
Pastor Mike
