Snails have both male and female reproductive organs. Because of their poor vision, they smell out their suitable mate. Once they find a mate, the pair perform an elaborate dance shooting 'love darts' inside each other's bodies, sometimes even at the same time, and hoping for success. The copulation process can take up to 6 hours. @heal2end. Source: Live Science.”]
Spooky season is upon us with the October edition of #NotForSocialMedia.

First off, Tarana Burke, the founder of The 'Me Too' Movement, has named us The Future of #MeToo in this TIME article. We are honored to be featured among the five people and organizations that are leading the movement to end sexual violence.

In case you missed our CAUTION Watch Party, don't fret. We had some great discussions and stories to tell, but you can also watch the first episode of Family Dirt on our YouTube channel. Please make sure to read the trigger and self-care guide before watching Caution: Unrestricted.

For the anniversary of our sexual healing model, RASHIM, we have been posting the nine pillars of sexuality all over social media. This week on Instagram, stay tuned for an updated visual of RASHIM that is more clean, more accessible, and even more badass than before.

Lastly, if you have been wanting casual community interactions with us, make sure you sign up for our Community Think Tank. We are holding the first virtual gathering in late November, where we will break the ice, touch on hot topics, and do some brainstorming.

Read on to be in awe of our clever silliness =)

#RASHIMandFriends

Let's talk about hormones and teen sexuality. Despite gendered misconceptions, all teenagers need to learn to navigate puberty safely. How many times have you heard hormones being blamed for the lack of good education on connection skills? RASHIM & Friends are here with a different take on the subject.
[ID: A 4-panel 2x2 comic strip. The title of the comic series is RASHIM & Friends. The title of this comic is “boys will be boys”. The first panel has a green cartoon charactershrugging their hands with text to the left of them them that reads, “My teenage son is getting older and wants to go to parties all the time. I'm scared about him doing something he is going to regret. I've talked with him about consent and using condoms, but I'm not sure if that's enough. I just don't want him to ever think it's OK to sexually harm a girl.” The second panel has a red character frowning with their arms crossed with text that reads, “I think your permissive parenting is the problem. Boys will be boys. Good luck thinking that your little talk will overcome his raging teenage hormones.” The third panel has the blue cartoon character smiling with text that reads, “Okay, let's stop talking about teenage boy hormones like an inevitably destructive force. ALL teenagers experience intensity due to hormonal changes and there is a lot we can do to help them manage this stage of their life. And let's not forget that ALL teenagers can experience sexual harm, AND cause sexual harm.” The fourth panel has the green character smiling with text that reads, “I don't want my son to think he can't be a victim, too. I've never really brought it up with him in that way though. It feels like a lot to talk about, but now I know it's important for him to learn about mutually safe and consensual body exploration!” The red character is sulking in the corner with text that reads, “hmph…” At the bottom of the graphic, there is gray text that reads, “@heal2end, Learn more at heal2end.org/rashim-and-friends.”]

#MemesForThot

With the rise of reporting on allegations against famous people, family conversations about sexual violence are becoming more complicated and intense. Debunking myths about sexual violence is a daunting task for many of us, especially when the audience is not interested in witnessing our lived experiences.

Tip: headphones or fidgets are great for avoiding family arguments =)
[ID: A meme of a highway with a car swerving to the right with text under it reading, “Me listening to family discuss celebrity sexual abuse allegations.” Their is a highway sign showing a split in traffic. The straight way is labeled “Explaining why their victim-blaming is harmful to survivors (i.e. me).” The right way the car is swerving to is labeled, “Dissociating and taking the scenic route.”]

#ThereIsAWordForThat

What do you call it when:
  • You can't access trans-friendly mental health services;
  • You are deemed sexually undesirable because you are visibly disabled;
  • You are a child living in a culture that deprives you of correct information about your body.
We call it... systems of marginalization. Systems of marginalization include white supremacy, male supremacy, body norm supremacy, and capital supremacy. These systems manifest in too familiar ways such as queer/transphobia, fatphobia, ableism, racism, classism, xenophobia, and imperialism.
[ID: A graphic with a black chalkboard background with a drawing of a paper airplane with a trail behind it on the left side. There is white text that reads, “Systems Of Marginalization, noun, related to: racism; sexual oppression. Under Systems of Marginalization, individuals and groups are given permission to casually or institutionally override the agency and dignity of marginalized bodies. @heal2end, heal2end.org/glossary.”]
