This Friday (21 October)
we will be launching a new initiative at GBC called INSPIRE.

INSPIRE offers a CREATIVE SPACE for adults to SHARE PROJECTS – LEARN SKILLS – EXPLORE IDEAS
Invite friends/ neighbours or come along yourself anytime between 10.00am and 12 noon. Get stuck into all things creative, while enjoying friendship, chat, and refreshments!

You can:
  • Bring a craft, artistic hobby, or project you are already working on, to continue and informally share with others around the table. We can accommodate most mediums – paint, clay, material, paper, wood, glass etc, OR
  • Learn some new skills. Each week we will have a demonstration and the opportunity to try a new craft. No experience needed, just have a go, OR
  • Explore your creative side freely using different mediums that are provided. There’s no anticipated outcome – enjoy experimenting and see what results!
INSPIRE will run on Friday mornings from 21 October. £2 per session (although there may be a small additional charge for some projects). All are very welcome – any questions please speak to Stephanie Brown, Dorne Burdett or Carolyn Keats. We would be pleased to hear from anyone with artistic flair who could demonstrate a craft or help on the team. Thank you
University Students
Generation Rising young people are putting together some care packages for those who are now at university. Any donations of biscuits, chocolates etc would be gratefully received.
Huntingdon Area Money Advice (HAMA) is the Huntingdon Community Radio Charity of the Month and will be featured on the ‘Over to You’ programme at 7.00pm to 8.00pm next Wednesday 26 October when John Pickersgill will be interviewed about the work of HAMA. Huntingdon Community Radio can be found on 104fm or on the internet
Christmas Shoeboxes
If you have any items you wish to donate towards the shoeboxes, please ensure you drop them off at GBC by Monday 7 November. Any completed shoeboxes need to be dropped off by Thursday 10 November. Thank you.
First Aid Training
We need some more First Aiders. We will be arranging a training course for this. If this is something you would be interested in, please speak to Daniel. The day and time for any course will be arranged based on people's availability.
Rehoboth Rendezvous
The next Rehoboth Rendezvous, which this year will be a "Christmas Craft Cafe", is planned for 3.00pm-5.00pm on Saturday 10 December at GBC.
If anyone would like to make or donate something, such as biscuits, cakes, sweets, handmade cards or gifts, Christmas decorations or nativity sets, please let Philip & Jenny Thompson know (01480 413884) or email Kathryn Thompson.
Warm Space
We are planning on hosting a ‘warm space’ each Thursday, 10.00am-2.00pm from 3 November - 23 February. This will be a safe and relaxed space for people from the community to come that will be warm. We will provide simple refreshments, hot drinks and toast. If you would be able to be part of a team of people to host this space, maybe every week, maybe for part of the time, please let Daniel know.
Happy Birthday
Birthdays coming up in the next few weeks are as follows

23 October - Thomas Webb

If you would like to join the birthday scheme, and receive a card from the church family and friends, (no cost involved) please email Liz Webb at birthdays@godmanchesterbaptist.org with names and dates.
Sunday Parking
We ask that you do NOT park in East Chadley Lane or Lancaster Way and please also be careful not to park in front of the bus stop at the main road end of Tudor Road! Please check this separate e-mail which gives details of available free parking places in the locality and details of how to get a permit for the car park if you need one.
