Business Administration Training 
FYA is furthering its reach as a community impact organization through its training and employability skills development for young people. We are running a 13-weeks training for unemployed young people. This is an accredited Open Awards Level 1 Award and Certificate in Business Administrative Skills.

Black History Month

October marks Black History Month, an annual celebration and commemoration of the contributions and history of the African and Caribbean Diaspora that originated in the US. It is a month-long event that aims to remember the history, achievements, and contributions of the African Diaspora in the western world (U.K, Canada, U.S, Germany, Ireland) The origins of Black History Month began in the U.S when historian and son of former slaves Carter. G. Woodson wanted to change perspectives at the time that Black people had no history. It aimed to reduce racial prejudices in the country. He established the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH).

The impact of ‘Reflection Opportunity’ on young perpetrators of Knife Crime

Youth crime, particularly knife crime, is a perennial issue with its continuing untold devastation on lives, livelihoods, and families. A lot has been documented including statistics on the offenders and the economic and structural challenges it poses for the Criminal Justice System. This article acknowledges that but pays attention to the impact of rehabilitation initiatives for youth offenders of knife crime by Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (Nottingham) in partnership with Fearless Youth Association.

As an organisation, we know that youth voices matter, which is why we’re pleased to support VoiceBox, ran by young people, for young people, in their search for paid UK-based ambassadors. Healthy Relationships Campaign
Being in a relationship can be exciting and should make you feel happy. A healthy relationship is when everyone feels respected, trusted and valued for who they are. This 8 week social media campaign covers eight key aspects of a healthy relationship, encouraging people to treat themselves and their partners with respect. If you think you are in an unhealthy relationship or your partner makes you feels unsafe please talk to a trusted adult. Alternatively, Childline is a free, private and confidential service where young people can talk about anything.

Here at FYA  we are looking at focusing on amplifying authentic voices of youths and migrant communities, especially African and Caribbean groups in the UK.  Key skills that FMB Radio are looking for are: being passionate to spot trends and opportunities and identify what the readers like and need; being able to focus on digital contents production and broadcasting; the use social media to research and share contents; production of high quality accurate digital stories and live contents; be able to source and producing the best articles and getting the most out of them digitally and have effective fact checking and countering misinformation and disinformation.
