Just One Tree
As part of the Just one Tree initiative, Year 3 learnt about photosynthesis, the benefits of trees to ourselves and our wildlife, and the vital role trees play in mitigating climate change.
The pupils learnt about the importance of trees and how each part of a tree has a different name, just like we have names for all the different parts of our bodies.

Pupils and staff have worn a 'touch of green' today to support Just One Tree day, joining in with over 200,000 children across the world. The aim is to raise awareness of the need to restore our planet. Every pound raised will fund reforestation organisations around the globe focusing on areas severely affected by mass deforestation. Our Environment Prefect Guilia, with members of the Loreto Schools Sustainability Committee planted an Avocado tree in the School garden, thank you to the Weir family for donating the tree.
