Grand Hospitalier Recognizes First Qualifiers
for "Order of Masonic Hospitalier" Distinction

 by WB Eddie LeBeouf,
Grand Hospitalier

Pictured L to R: Eddie LeBeouf, Grand Hospitalier, John Combel, Paige Lacombe, Jennifer Anderson, Don Spell, and Dustin Stark.

Please join me in congratulating the first 3 Order of Masonic Hospitalier recipients: Brothers Dustin Stark, Don Spell, & John Combel. The Order of Masonic Hospitalier is a program I created as Grand Hospitalier to recognize Brothers who go out and visit the sick, widows and orphans and in general support our charities. The program calls for 6 or more visits.

I feel it is no coincidence that the first 3 happen to be Shriners. I want to thank the Jerusalem Shrine Potentate Lonnie Lusco for allowing me some time to recognize these Brothers and Nobles. Especially since there was already a program that night about the Texas Shrine Hospital given by Ms. Jennifer Anderson. And there was an even bigger guest of honor, Ms. Paige Lacombe a patient ambassador that shared a video with her pictures of her journey through the Shrine Hospital and some 21 surgeries she endured. Her video was both heart wrenching and inspiring at the same time. It was an honor to meet her.

Winnsboro Lodge No. 246

Hosts 19th Annual "Grand Master's Night"

On Tuesday, October 11th, Winnsboro Lodge No. 246 held their 19th annual "Grand Master's Night" in Franklin Parish, with MW Jay McCallum, Grand Master, as the guest of honor. WB Mitch Reynolds introduced guest speaker Mrs. Joanna Strong, representing the Order of Eastern Star, who spoke about the need for new members for the organization. WB Reynolds, with the assistance of the Grand Master, presented Brothers Dr. Bob Brooks and Richard Mahoney with their 25 year certificates and lapel pins.  The Grand Master closed out the night with an informative talk regarding Masonic Children's Charities, and encouraged all Masons to help make the public aware of these charities.

For the second year in a row Aurora Lodge No. 193 in New Iberia participated in the World Championship Gumbo Cook Off." They sold 184 shrimp po’boys on Saturday, and nearly 400 bowls of shrimp and crab gumbo on Sunday; both days were sell outs.

On the event, the brethren stated: "While we didn’t win any awards for our gumbo, we won in many more important ways. One win was having two of our Entered Apprentice Masons there to help out and bond with the brothers. Another win was the brothers working together and enjoying good fellowship and camaraderie. The final win was getting Masonry out in the public, showing that we are here and part of the community. We are already planning for next year!"
