This Sunday, we will gather for our worship service in Brown Chapel at 10:30am. In addition, our Sunday Schools for adults, kids, and teens, will take place beginning at 9am.

THIS SUNDAY, October 16th is the return of our annual Chili Cook-Off & Pie/Cake Auction in the Family Life Center!
Right after our worship service, we'll head over to the FLC. A $5 entry fee - payable with cash or online - will give you access to lunch (chili, cornbread, hot dogs and more!), chili tastings, and the Pie & Cake Auction!
All proceeds throughout the day go toward our Kids & Teens Camp Scholarship Fund!
It's the most fun — and delicious — fundraiser of the year! We hope you'll join us!

October is Pastor's Appreciation Month...
The past two and a half years have been an incredibly challenging and uncertain time in the life of our church. Many extra responsibilities and unknowns have been encountered by our church staff. Please take your time this month to share your thanks for all our pastoral staff has done to oversee our return to in-person worship, rebuilding of church ministries and programming, and more!

If you're newer to the SDFC community and would be interested in formally becoming a member of our church, then be sure to mark your calendars and join us for a Membership Class being held on Saturday, October 29 from 8:30-11:30am.
This class is a great way to learn a little bit more about our church history, beliefs, and opportunities to serve & get involved!

Save the Date! On Friday, November 4, SDFC Kids is sponsoring a Parent's Night Out from 5-7:30pm! We'll provide childcare at the church for kids ages 0 – 5th grade while their parents are able to enjoy an evening together!

It's not too late to join our adult Christmas Choir for this year! These singers prepare throughout the Fall for our annual Joyful Sounds of Christmas services, happening on Sunday, December 4.

We host open gym Pickleball Nights every other Thursday in the FLC from 6-8:30pm. Come to compete or learn how to play!

- The Boles Family: Please be in prayer for Wayne Boles and his family after the passing of his wife, Frances. A memorial service is schedule for October 29. Details to come.
- Kay Kelley: Thank you for your continued prayers for Kay in the midst of her ongoing health challenges, as well as following the recent loss of her mother. Kay and family are grateful for your continued prayers.
- Danielle McGowan: Please continue to pray with us for comfort and discernment for Danielle, her mom, and family after her grandmother was recently placed on hospice.
- Sandy Ische: Please continue to join us in prayer for Sandy and her father, Walter, who has been in and out of the hospital this year.

Memorial Service for Wil Spaite
Please continue to join us in prayer for Judi Labenske and her family following the passing of her father, Wil Spaite, at the age of 91.
Over many years, Wil poured his life into people and ministry in the church and university, serving as a pastor, District Superintendent, and chairman of the PLNU Board of Trustees. He has many ties with the people at SDFC and his uncle, Alpin Bowes, was one of our first pastors.
Wil's memorial service is scheduled for 10:30am tomorrow, Saturday, October 15, at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene in Chandler, AZ.
