A Love Letter from Lustre
October 2022
To All of My Wildhearts,
Damn! I mean DAMN! The Austin heat was an inferno this summer, in case you didn’t notice. The oppressiveness was confirmed, taking a toll on Lustres’ spirit. She and Clive had to do something to sidestep the sultriness, so they headed to the Pacific Northwest. No schedule, no itinerary; Lustre packed all of her Texas winter clothes, intending to wear them all while on the road. Her intentions were to find such cold weather that she could only wear coats and cashmere.
She and Clive stopped in Washington, Utah, Wyoming, and even made it all the way to Alaska, where it was a cool unfluctuating 52 degrees with a smoggy rainy mist that fell every day all day. When Clive insists they head back home, which means the party is over, which always upsets Lustre, Clive indulges her, and they go home through Portland, Oregon. It was not a misty 50 degrees but a cool 80 degrees during the day, which was superb for Lustre. Her savage heart could continue to flourish in 80 degrees with some sunshine. The two sniffed around Rose City and found a new place to stay for a while—3932 North Mississippi Avenue. A cozy neighborhood where the folks were kind and inviting. Lustre thought she could have some fun here. So, that’s what we decided to do—stay!
As we say, Ici tout bon, meaning everything here is good. That it is. She and Clive and company (only the best) came back to gather some things but are leaving Austin this Saturday to get the joint moving, and we can’t wait to see you there. Those that know us from Austin and Denver, please stop by and say hello. Lustre never remembers names, so reintroduce yourself—she loves a name tag! Lustre and Clive are easy to spot. Clive is a tall, bald, handsome gentleman with a calm demeanor, while his untamed Lustre will probably be on the dance floor. As Keb Mo says, “…when the music starts, she slides onto the floor, without a partner, there’s a flower in her hair, a smile on her face..she just wants to dance….” Clive will be near— I can guarantee. He doesn’t like his Lustre to be too far away. He’s not afraid of her wild heart, nor does he try to tame her; he just stays close.
Come by and say hello. Then, let us show you our Austin ways; we promise not to disappoint.
We can’t wait to see you and come hungry—we have wood-fired pizzas and then some. So get your ass over to 3932 Mississippi Avenue, Portland Oregon.

Q: What's your favorite part about working at LPE?
A: My favorite aspect of working at Lustre East are college football Saturday's because of the rush and excitement of everyone cheering on their teams.
I also enjoy working the private events in the old Lustre house. You get to meet interesting people and be apart of an experience that could be really memorable to them, like a birthday or a rehearsal dinner.
Q: What do you like to do on your days off from bartending?
A: When I'm not working I spend a lot of time walking my dog with my boyfriend and reading books- I'm big into British mystery writers. I also enjoy playing tennis with my friends, and crafting.
Q: What is your favorite drink to make for customers?
A: My favorite drink to make is a margarita. Simple, and easy, yet there's so many ways to diversify it, and there's also many ways you can make it taste bad. A great margarita requires a good balance, and a hard shake.
Q: What inspired you to run the NYC Marathon?
A: I was inspired to run my first marathon last year after doing my first half last October. I was never much of a runner but the feeling of completing a half was emotional. So I wanted to challenge myself a little more. Plus, what's more iconic than the NEW YORK MARATHON?!
