Three Lake County Restaurants Featured on CBS Destination Chicago

The Shanty and Captain Porky's of Wadsworth and The Vine Wine and Martini Bar in Grayslake are receiving international exposure via the CBS series "Destination Chicago."

The new CBS show streams internationally on Roku and Amazon Prime, a documentary-style series featuring businesses and attractions in the Chicagoland area.

The streaming program showcases the makers in the local businesses providing visitors and residents with its craft. In addition, the CBS presentation is highlighted by the restaurants, attractions and other destinations.

The Shanty and Captain Porky's episode aired on October 9 (seen above), while The Vine's showing will be revealed on October 22 at noon. An additional viewing will be available on IGTV on Thursday, October 27, at 1 p.m.

At The Vine, while ambitiously starting an exciting expansion project recently, there were unforeseen underground building issues that caused a temporary closure and financial losses. Fully open and operational now, they serve as an anchor presence in downtown Grayslake. Owner Michael Pruitt has always been an avid Grayslake community advocate, so friends have mounted a drive to help recoup some of the costs. To learn more, continue here
