Tsartlip Bighouse Renovations Update

Tsartlip’s Bighouse has undergone extensive renovations over the last few months, the majority of which are slated to be complete by early November. 

Tsartlip’s Bighouse has been in need of major renovation for some time. Severe weather and water damage had rotted the floor, making it unusable and unsafe. Last Spring, with direction from the Big House Committee, the scope of work and schedule were identified, with an initial completion date of October 1st. The Big House committee, made up of Tsartlip community members, has continued to guide decisions regarding the project since that time.

Are you interested in joining the Islands Trust Conservancy Board?

 

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs is seeking expressions of interest from people interested in being appointed to the Islands Trust Conservancy Board.

Islands Trust Conservancy, established by the provincial Islands Trust Act, manages land as nature reserves and conservation covenants in the Islands Trust Area, an area that includes more than 450 islands in the Salish Sea. The following are the attributes sought for the Board member position:

  • First Nations relations and engagement
  • Fundraising and donor development
  • Biology/ecology of coastal British Columbia, a focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge

Join the Tsartlip Group of Companies Board of Directors


The Tsartlip First Nation is re-organizing its legal business structure by separating current economic development from the First Nation. In order to achieve this restructure, the Tsartlip First Nation has created the newly incorporated Tsartlip Group of Companies. The Tsartlip Group of Companies is pleased to announce the call for applications to join the Board of Directors to sit for a three-year (3) term.
