What have I learned this year?
20 take-aways from 2022
By Lisa Vignerot
So, we are finishing up the last of the shows for the 2022 season.  No more “horse show hangovers”, huge trainer bills, or ungodly long drives to horse shows.  The weekends are now open to catch up and go hiking and other things not related to horses.  As a recap, here are a few things I learned which I think most of them also pertains to you.

Message from the Show Committee
The Virginia Quarter Horse Association would like to thank everyone who has helped make our VQHA shows to date a huge success. Your support has put VQHA on a path that we hope will enable us to have many more shows at the Meadows Event Park in Doswell, VA.
The VQHA is on a mission to facilitate a resurgence of enthusiasm in Virginia for owning and showing the American Quarter Horse, as well as welcoming any other breed that would like to participate in our shows and programs.
Much of our shows' success depends on our amazing members and friends who volunteer, as well as the generous support of our sponsors.
We are committed to adding value to our sponsors. The show committee is dedicated to allocating the sponsorship funds to improve the show experience for our exhibitors and allow us to give back in the form of awards and prizes.

Important grant funding from the Virginia Horse Industry Board
The Virginia Horse Industry Board (VHIB) Marketing grant program supports the Virginia horse industry in promoting and growing equine associations, organizations, events, and venues. To aid in the industry's recovery from COVID, VHIB considered multiple grant projects from a single organization. VQHA grants committee is happy to announce that we submitted 3 grant proposals and they were all accepted!
