Nominations for all service positions will be taken in November!
All are welcome to attend and nominate the future of BIGAA.
Here's a full list of open positions at Brooklyn Intergroup! Please refer to the BIGAA Bylaws for more information about the positions (minimum required length of continuous sobriety, other duties, etc.).

Please spread the word: Brooklyn Intergroup is on the verge of explosive growth! All that's needed is a group of fresh minds and bodies to take BIGAA to the next level! Anyone who has ever wanted to do service at Brooklyn Intergroup: now is the time to commit!
  • Chairperson
    • The Chairperson shall be the executive officer of BIGAA and shall be responsible for leading the general operation and overall supervision of the activities of BIGAA.
  • Vice-Chairperson
    • The Vice-Chairperson supports and shares the general duties of the Chairperson and performs the duties of the Chairperson in their absence or at their request.
  • Treasurer
    • The Treasurer oversees all aspects of financial management to safeguard the finances of BIGAA.
  • Secretary
    • The Secretary's role is to be guardian of the records of meetings and all correspondence.
  • Communications Committee Chairperson
    • The Communications Committee’s role is to manage all public-facing BIGAA communications and exercise editorial control in a manner consistent with the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.
  • Directory Committee Chairperson
    • The Directory Committee’s role is to serve as guardian of the database of schedules and related information of the AA meetings in Brooklyn.
  • Events Committee Chairperson
    • The Events Committee’s role is to plan, coordinate, and host Brooklyn Intergroup activities.
  • General Services Committee Chairperson
    • The General Services Committee’s role is to inform Brooklyn Intergroup as to the news and updates of Brooklyn County, Southeastern New York Area Committee and Assembly of AA (SENY), and World Services.
  • Helpline Committee Chairperson
    • The Helpline Committee’s role is to maintain open means of communication (telephone, text, or otherwise) for anyone in need of information or assistance regarding sobriety, BIGAA and AA.
  • Institutions Committee Chairperson
    • The Institutions Committee’s role is to see that the needs of alcoholics who are housed in Brooklyn institutions and treatment facilities are met.
  • Office Committee Chairperson
    • The Office Committee’s role is to operate and maintain the BIGAA office and bookstore.
  • Speaker Exchange Committee Chairperson
    • A speaker exchange acts as a hub for participating groups to share speaking commitments with other groups. This committee’s role is to operate a regularly-scheduled exchange.
  • Website Committee Chairperson
    • The Website Committee maintains the Brooklyn Intergroup website.

ESCYPAA VIII on October 28-30!


What is ESCYPAA?
The Empire State Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous exists to further the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous by planning & hosting an annual Convention for young people in AA.

The Convention provides an opportunity for AA members, regardless of age, to become better prepared to welcome young people into their local AA community.

You can still pick up your order at Brooklyn Intergroup. We love to see you and meet you. But, if you place an order of $100 or more, we will deliver your order directly to you or your meeting!
  1. Place an order at bigaa.org/shop.
  2. At checkout, let us know if you would like your order delivered for free in the "Additional information Order notes (optional)" text area.
  3. A BIGAA representative will contact you to set up a time for delivery or pickup at the BIGAA office: 1283 Prospect Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11218
  4. There is still no direct shipping via USPS, UPS, FedEx etc. at this time.



New Feature!
Search Meetings by Neighborhood!

 
Finding Brooklyn meetings has never been easier!
  1. Visit the Brooklyn Intergroup Meeting Finder at bigaa.org.
  2. Click on the drop down that says "Everywhere" (by default).
  3. Select the neighborhood in which you want to find a meeting.
  4. The meeting finder will return results in that neighborhood only!
You can also use the Search field to search by zip code, street name, meeting name, and more. Take a minute and search for a new meeting to explore today!

Another great feature of the meeting list is that it's printable!

Brooklyn Heights
Mondays 7pm to 8pm

Brooklyn Heights is a newly reopened in-person meeting as of Monday, October 3, 2022.  The Brooklyn Heights online meeting on Thursdays was started during the pandemic from members of the original Brooklyn Heights meeting. Come by and say hi!

Brooklyn Intergroup has received requests for information about young people's meetings. Unfortunately, we only have a couple of young people's meetings listed at bigaa.org.

If you know of any young people's meetings held in Brooklyn, online or in-person, please let us know about them: info@bigaa.org.

Your help gathering this important and life-saving information will be greatly appreciated!!
