Die Teilnahmegebühr für alle vier Workshops inklusive Verpflegung beträgt einmalig 200 Euro, um das Programm jedoch so zugänglich wie möglich zu gestalten, wird für Teilnehmer_innen, die die Mittel zurzeit nicht aufbringen können eine reduzierte Teilnahmegebühr angeboten. WHO WEARS YOUR CLOTHES?
Immer wieder fragen wir danach, wer unsere Kleidung produziert. Heute drehen wir den Spieß einmal um und wollen wissen: Wer trägt eure Mode?
Die Austrian Fashion Association lädt alle österreichischen und in Österreich arbeitenden Modedesigner_innen und Labels dazu ein, Fotos von Celebrities und anderen inspirierenden Persönlichkeiten einzusenden, die ihre Kollektionsstücke tragen. Wir werden diese dann in speziellen Features hier im Newsletter und auf Instagram veröffentlichen.
Schickt euer Bildmaterial mit sämtlichen Credits an press@afa.co.at. Schreibt auch gerne ein paar Sätze zum Kontext des/der Fotos, wir freuen uns darauf!

CONSCIOUS TEXTILE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
Die Budapester Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) und das nachhaltig arbeitende Modelabel Nanushka laden ein, sich für ihr neues Forschungsstipendium zu bewerben, um nachhaltige Bemühungen in der Textilproduktion und -nutzung in der Modebranche voranzutreiben. Das 12-monatige Programm bietet Wissenschaftler_innen aus verschiedenen Bereichen die Möglichkeit, ihre Forschung mit Schwerpunkt auf der Minimierung von Textilabfällen zu vertiefen und soll darauf abzielen, einen Beitrag zum Textilabfallrecycling zu leisten.
Die Stipendiat_innen erhalten finanzielle und operative Unterstützung für die Durchführung ihrer Forschung, es wird erwartet, dass sie während des Fellowships in Budapest wohnen.

HOW TO FASHION WORKSHOPS

The Austrian Fashion Association and the Vienna Business Agency invite fashion and accessory designers to apply for a spot in the coveted HOW TO FASHION workshop series.
Renowned, international industry experts share their knowledge and experience in practical lectures and are available for intensive 1:1 discussions to nurture professionalization processes, impart new skills and expand networks.
The second edition of the workshop series will start on December 1, 2022 with a kick-off event where participants can get to know each other and the workshop program better. On December 5, 2022 the programm starts with Pepijn van Eeden, chief brand officer of Carven, former CEO of and co-founder of fashion label Marine Serre, founder of SOULMACHINE Brand Development Bureau and independent consultant. His workshop will deal with the structure, development and scaling of a fashion label. On January 9, Saskia Wendland, Supply Chain Manager at WEBA and former Production and Development Manager at Vetements, will be holding her workshop on production management. Workshops in the areas of image, PR, marketing and communication as well as sales & e-commerce will follow.

The participation fee for all four workshops (including meals) is €200, but in order to make the program as accessible as possible, a reduced participation fee is offered for participants who do not have the funds at the moment. Please send inquiries to contact@afa.co.at.

WHO WEARS YOUR CLOTHES?
We keep asking who produces our clothes. Today we turn the tables and want to know: who wears your fashion?
The Austrian Fashion Association invites all Austrian fashion designers and labels working in Austria to send in photos of celebrities and other inspiring personalities wearing their collection pieces. We will then publish these in special features here in the newsletter and on Instagram.
Send your image material with credits to press@afa.co.at. Feel free to write a few sentences about the context of the photo(s), we look forward to it!

CONSCIOUS TEXTILE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
Budapest's Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) and sustainable fashion label Nanushka are inviting to apply for their new research grant to advance sustainable efforts in textile production and use in the fashion industry. The 12-month program offers scientists from various fields the opportunity to deepen their research with a focus on textile waste minimization and aims to contribute to textile waste recycling.
Fellows receive financial and operational support to conduct their research and are expected to reside in Budapest during the fellowship.
