New Construction is Complete!
MLK Blvd
Jubilee Homes of Syracuse, Inc. is committed to revitalizing the Southwest side of Syracuse through affordable housing opportunities, workforce and entrepreneurship programming, economic development, and youth development programming.  They have just completed two newly constructed single-family homes at 431 and 441 MLK Blvd. The two affordable neighboring homes were built on three vacant lots formerly owned by the Land Bank, which we split into two building sites, and were sold to owner-occupants.  In the next few years, Jubilee Homes hopes to build over 70 additional single-family homes increasing the availability of quality homes in Syracuse.  We are excited to see the completion of this project and look forward to partnering with Jubilee Homes on future endeavors. These homes are part of the City of Syracuse's Resurgent Neighborhoods Initiative.

Weatherization for your Home

With the winter season in Central New York comes the snow and cold and the increased costs of heating a home.  Weatherization helps reduce energy costs, conserve energy, and improve health and safety standards in the home.  Eligibility for the Weatherization Assistance Program is based on income and household size.  It's locally administered through PEACE, Inc. which offers air sealing of cracks and holes to prevent heat loss, insulation of attic and walls, heating system repairs and replacement, client education on other ways to reduce energy costs, and more!  Currently, there is a waiting list, but every client approved in the program will be eventually serviced.  For more information on the Weatherization Assistance Program visit Peace Inc. at https://www.peace-caa.org/programs/energyhousing/

Syracuse is considered a college town with two local colleges and one major university.  Can I purchase a Syracuse Land Bank home with the intention of using it as a rental unit for students?

We very rarely get foreclosed properties in the areas right around the university where students tend to rent. If that's what you're looking to do, we recommend working with a local property manager to advise you on the properties you're looking at and your marketing strategy for target rental customers. Keep in mind, anything listed in the Home Ownership Choice program cannot be a rental.
