- New Program in Computational Precision Health -

Interested in a PhD Program
in Computational Precision Health?

A new PhD program in Computational Precision Health, joint between UC Berkeley and UCSF, is now open to applications from recent or soon-to-be graduates and Master's students. Our inaugural class will be matriculating in Fall 2023 with 5 years normative time. Students are encouraged to reach out to Augmented Graduate Group (AGG) faculty to discuss their interests.

Students in the PhD in Computational Precision Health will develop skills and expertise in both the computational sciences (machine learning and AI, natural language processing, statistical inference and modeling, data standards, parallel computing and data at scale, etc.) and health sciences (clinical decision sciences and cognitive informatics, clinical delivery, clinical research, implementation science, health information policy, etc.).

Please contact Bianca Victorica biancav@berkeley.edu for more information.

Open Rank Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty Position

The UCSF-UC Berkeley Joint Program in Computational Precision Health leverages the world leadership in computer science, engineering and statistics at UC Berkeley, clinical care and health sciences research at UCSF, and public health at both institutions to transform personal and public health through computation. We are currently seeking applicants for an open-rank tenured or tenure track “hard money” position with an expected start date of July 1, 2023.

We seek rising leaders from diverse fields with active research at the intersection of the computational sciences and the health sciences, including applications of computing to health economics and health services research.

We hope to choose from outstanding candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our goals of diversity and inclusion in higher education. We are particularly interested in learning of talented doctoral students or junior faculty who are women or underrepresented minorities (African Americans, Latin Americans or Hispanics, and Native Americans), as well as candidates with disabilities.
