A letter in honor of

TRANSGENDER AWARENESS MONTH

To the transgender, nonbinary, gender expansive, and gender exploring youth,

We recognize this has been a difficult year for our community, but especially for you. All around you, you’re watching more and more anti-trans legislation appear and pass in cities and states across the country that questions your existence, shames your experience, and criminalizes youth care. We know you’ve experienced bullying and harassment in your schools from both peers and teachers. We’ve seen your pain when you’re rejected by friends and family. We know the sting of every misgendering, and the frustration of daily dysphoria.

We want to let you know we see you, and we’re here for you.

Your existence, your experience, and your authenticity is a powerful force.

While we know that there are so many difficult things about living your truth in a world that was not built for you, we also celebrate the joy you find when you exist as your best self. We are committed, now more than ever, to standing with you, supporting you, and carving out space for you to live your truth. We are here to enable your whole personhood, ensuring you know that when you’re ready to live loudly and proudly as the gender expansive person you are, you have a whole team behind you.

Your name, your pronouns, your expression, and your identity matter. Your authenticity matters. Trans lives matter. Black and Brown trans lives matter. Trans youth matter. Your trans life matters. And we commit to continuing to fight for your life, and all trans lives, until transgender people are truly free to be.

We're here for you, and we're not going anywhere,

NOVEMBER IS GRATITUDE MONTH

According to Harvard Health Publishing of Harvard Medical School, In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.

Let's spread GRATITUDE this November.

Let someone you care about know how you feel.
Write a note or letter of gratitude.
Say something nice to someone - a compliment, a word of thanks, or recognition.
Begin a gratitude journal.

A small gesture of gratitude goes a long way and positively affects the health of the person giving and receiving gratitude.
