For You:

A Message From First Year Experience's
Pegasus Parent Program

I am convinced there are two types of people on earth: those that get to the airport two hours before their flight just in case ("you never know what could happen!") and those that get there right as the gate doors close ("don't need any extra sitting around time!").

While there's not one type that's superior to the other of course, our Pegasus Parent Program team believes that when it comes to thinking about your student coming home for the holiday breaks that start this month, it's time to plan ahead and lean into the "well, let's just get there early so we have time for coffee at least" mentality.

Preparing for your student to come home for the Thanksgiving break can mean a lot of different things. At the forefront of all is the excitement surrounding seeing them again, catching up, hearing about their semester and maybe things they've accomplished so far at UCF. But it can also come with some tougher conversations around boundaries while they are at home and under your roof after maybe living on their own for the past few months. It can mean conversations around maybe what hasn't gone so well in their classes and how they're feeling about finishing up the semester.

In order to have the best conversations around both the good and the bad, plan ahead now on how those conversations will go down and when they will be had. This month's Pegasus Parent Post is here to give some resources on how to help you do that. We hope you enjoy these conversations and have a happy Thanksgiving!
