MERET OPPENHEIM IN NEW YORK
MERET OPPENHEIM AT MOMA
OCTOBER 30 - MARCH 4
Inspired by the visionary Swiss artist’s own plans for an exhibition of her art, Meret Oppenheim: My Exhibition brings together nearly 200 works that offer a wide retrospective view of Oppenheim’s lifelong innovation, fierce originality and wit. Oppenheim, one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century, was a leading figure of Surrealism and one of the first female artists to enter MoMA's collection. Her legacy is so significant, that Switzerland's most prestigious art award is named after her. The award is presented to artists and architects, curators and researchers whose work played a key role in enhancing engagement with art and architecture and have fostered cultural dialogue in Switzerland and beyond.
