Congratulations to the
Phoenix Academy Day Program
September Student of the Month,

Erick Gonzalez
"Erick has transitioned very well from 2.0 to the Day Program this year. He always has a positive attitude and goes above and beyond on his assignments. It has been wonderful to see Erick grow at KEC over the years and to see how much more he has grown both socially and academically this year. His transition from 2.0 to the day program has gone tremendously! He's a help in the classroom, always participating, and brings a great attitude. Erick has been such a joy to have in class. He is thoughtful and insightful on his assignments. I always enjoy reading what he has to say."

He has all A's and B's in his classes and is starting on a few independent studies. I appreciate Renard's presence in class and the effort he makes on assignments. New Staff Spotlight

Mr. DiIacova

Hello, my name is Mr. DiIacova. I am new to KEC as a Math Teacher this year. I am originally from Bartlett, IL but I currently live in Sycamore. I have been a part of the Sycamore School District for the past 14 years in various roles including math intervention and an after school program before starting here at KEC. I enjoy sports, board games, reading, and hanging out with my dog, Brix. I’m excited to be in this new role and look forward to an awesome school year with everyone here.

September Project of the Month Winners:

Mrs. Sherman and Mrs. Holliday

The Best Game
"It was wonderful to bring mentor games back this year and to be able to play "The Best Game". Mrs. Sherman did a great job coordinating and Mrs. Holliday was, of course, a great game host. The kids really enjoyed the friendly competition, and it was a great way to have the whole school involved."
