Hello all!

This is my first crack at doing an email campaign, lol. Just wanted to say thanks for subscribing.

I'd like to let you know about the Winter fly fishing opportunities on the Truckee River. We're getting rain and snow! We should have some great fishing opportunities, on this second season of trout fishing.

The real gem of of the Truckee River in the Winter, is the Nevada side, East, of the city of Reno. Mainly, I guide that from my raft to access more water. The Nature Conservancy has spent over 30 million dollars restoring the river and riparian habitat, and trout have flourished. Generally the trout are bigger on the Nevada side, and I do a lot of streamer fishing to target those big Winter trout. Come around mid-January, we get a very good blue wing olive hatch, and it's not uncommon to see large brown trout on the surface. There is usually no snow on the Nevada side, and air temps can be relatively mild compared to the Ca side.

The California side can fish good too. You just have to pick the right weather days. Generally, the warmer days are best. Nymphing, and streamer fishing can produce. We don't catch a lot in the Winter, but the fish you catch are generally much larger than summertime fish. Big fish have to eat every day. The fishing pressure is very low in the Winter, and you'll probably have the whole river to yourself.

Thanks for subscribing, and I'll look forward to seeing you this Winter.
