8th International Conference on Mediaeval Archaeology Military Orders and Their Heritage

Poštovane kolegice i poštovani kolege!

Pozivamo Vas da prisustvujete 8. međunarodnom znanstvenom skupu srednjovjekovne arheologije Viteški redovi i njihovo naslijeđe u organizaciji Instituta za arheologiju i Instituta za povijest Sveučilišta u Szegedu pod pokroviteljstvom Hrvatske zaklade za znanost. Skup će se održati 9. i 10. studenog 2022. godine u predavaonici Instituta za arheologiju na adresi Ulica kralja Zvonimira 6 u Zagrebu. Početak skupa je 9. studenog u 9 sati.

We are pleased to invite you to the 8^th International Conference on Mediaeval Archaeology entitled Military Orders and Their Heritage, organised by the Institute of Archaeology in collaboration with the Institute of History (the University of Szeged) and sponsored by the Croatian Science Foundation. This Conference will take place on 9^th and 10^th of November 2022 at the Lecture Hall of the Institute of Archaeology at Ulica kralja Zvonimira 6 in Zagreb. As part of the project Life on the Roman road: communications, trade and identities on Roman roads in Croatia from 1st – 8th CE (UIP-05-2017-9768)

This year's conference focuses on small finds, those types and categories of finds often presented summarily in the publication of research results; those which are considered uniform, chronologically indeterminate or difficult to determine, insufficiently known.

Mukoše kraj Goriša

Mukoše near Goriš

Tijekom listopada provedena su arheološka istraživanja lokaliteta Mukoše kraj Goriša u suradnji s Muzejem grada Šibenika. Otkriveni su obrisi svih vanjskih zidova, čime je potvrđen neobičan tlocrt građevine s ukupno pet apsida, dvije na istočnoj te po jedna na ostalim stranama objekta, a otkriveni su i neki unutrašnji zidovi. Pronađeno je i mnoštvo novih grobova, većinom u kamenim sanducima, a u kojima se ukapalo lokalno stanovništvo u 16. stoljeću. Ukupno je istraženo 48 grobova, uglavnom bez nalaza.

The archaeological excavation at the site of Mukoše near Goriš was conducted during October in cooperation with the Šibenik City Museum. The complete outline of the exterior walls was unearthed. The excavation confirmed the unusual floor plan of the building with five apses, two on its eastern side and one on every other side. Also, some new interior walls were discovered. Aside from them, many new graves were documented; 48 have been excavated at this site so far, mostly without movable finds. They contained the remains of the local people from the 16^th century, most of them buried in stone caskets.
