  Funding


External funding opportunity: Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program

Program Overview: Department of Defense (DoD) program that supports graduate students pursuing degrees in 21 STEM disciplines, including behavioral sciences; awardees are assigned to a DoD facility, where they will serve as summer interns and complete a guaranteed period of post-graduation employment service as DoD civilian researchers
Eligibility: enrollment in a graduate degree program in an eligible STEM discipline (or awaiting admission for fall 2023); minimum 3.0 GPA
Citizenship: U.S. citizens, as well as citizens of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom
Benefits: annual stipend of $25,000-$38,000, full tuition and fees, and health insurance allowance for a period of 1 to 5 years, depending on degree requirements
Deadline: December 1, 2022

Internal funding opportunity: Graduate College Research Support Fellowships The applications for the Graduate College Research Support Fellowships will close on November 15. These are competitive fellowships designed to support master's students' thesis research and doctoral students' dissertation research.
