This rebrand has allowed us to represent ourselves on the global market, create focused content for the business community, and streamline business and development services into one.

Residential Infill Grant
A $15,000 grant per infill lot for new construction or reconstruction projects.
Municipal Fee Rebate
A grant equal to 100 % of the City imposed portions of all Inspection Services Permit Fees, Engineering Services Fees and Planning & Development Fees to a maximum of $10,000. Land Use Bylaw Amendment Fees may be rebated 100% for an approved application and 50% for applications not approved.
Business Revitalization Grant
A grant matching 50% of construction costs up to a maximum grant amount of $25,000. An eligible Business Revitalization Grant amount shall not be less than $5,000 or more than $25,000.

In October 2022, 90 homes were sold in the city, down from the 119 sold in October 2021. The average residential sale price in October was $308,269.
Year-to-date, 1,306 homes have sold in the city, a 7% increase from the same period last year.

Grande Prairie saw 4 single-family starts and 4 multi-family starts in October 2022, compared to 7 single-family and 5 multi-family starts in the same month last year.
As of the end of October, the city has seen a 63.9% increase year-to-date in total starts compared to the same time in 2021.

67 building permits worth over $13.8 million were issued in October 2022, compared to 60 permits worth over $9.3 million in October 2021, a 12% increase in volume and 47.9% increase in value.
Permits pulled in October 2022 included numerous commercial alterations and tenant improvements worth over $2.4 million combined, including a new store opening up in the Prairie Mall.
Year-to-date, the City has issued 674 building permits worth over $111.7 million, up from the 552 worth over $75.3 million issued over the same period last year.

The region's unemployment rate remained the same at 5.7% for September and October. Provincially, the unemployment rate saw a decrease from 5.4% in September to 5.2% in October.

833 Drilling Licenses have been issued in the Grande Prairie region this year. Up over 35.2% from the 616 Drilling Licenses for the same period in 2021. Of the licenses issued to date in 2022, 281 were for oil, 529 for gas and 23 for other industry-related wells. This is compared to 2021, with 237 oil and 370 gas and 9 for other industry-related wells.
Completions were up 36%, with 862 completions year-to-date for 2022 compared to 635 for the same period last year.

814 over-dimensional vehicles passed through the city in October. Year to date for October 2022 the City has seen 7,239 overdimensional vehicles which is a 20% increase over the same period last year.
Increased overdimensional vehicles indicate increased equipment activity (drilling rigs and shacks) headed to energy plays.

"October 2022 settled at $142.34/MWh, representing a 48% increase from October 2021’s settle of $96.35/MWh, and a 47% decrease from last month’s settle of $266.39/MWh. The maximum pool price was $976.60/MWh, compared to $999.99/MWh in September."

October 2022 welcomed 23 new businesses to Grande Prairie. Of the 23 new businesses, 9 were Home Based and 14 were Commercial.

The Grande Prairie Airport saw 20,744 passengers pass through its doors in September 2022, compared to 9,089 in 2021, a 128% increase.
The average hotel occupancy rate in Grande Prairie was 61.5% for August 2022, which was an increase from 57.2% for the same period in 2021.
