Former D.C. Police Officer Michael Fanone Endorses Fetterman, Blasts Oz in New Video

Fanone: “Oz is not the independent voice he claims to be. He is a mouthpiece for Donald Trump and his hate-filled, violent rhetoric.”

Braddock, PA -- Former Washington Metropolitan Police Department Officer Michael Fanone, who was brutally attacked during the January 6th insurrection, blasted Oz for tying himself to Donald Trump and voiced his support for John Fetterman in a video released today

“Oz has filled his campaign ranks with election deniers and even participants in the January 6th attack on our capitol,” says Fanone in the video. “Oz is not the independent voice he claims to be. He is a mouthpiece for Donald Trump and his hate-filled, violent rhetoric. Pennsylvanians deserve a representative committed to our democratic process and one who respects the rule of law. That is why I support John Fetterman for Senate in Pennsylvania.”

In the video, Officer Fanone describes the events of January 6th. Fanone sustained a traumatic brain injury, suffered a heart attack, and was later diagnosed with PTSD after being brutally attacked by the insurrectionists. In the video, Fanone notes that over 100 police officers with the Metropolitan Police Department and the US Capitol were injured.

“I’m honored to have the support of Officer Fanone, a true American hero,” said Fetterman. “In the Senate, I’d proudly fight alongside him to hold insurrectionists accountable and deliver justice to the officers who put their lives on the line to protect our Capitol and our democracy on January 6th. We must elect more leaders who will defend democracy.”

Officer Fanone has become an outspoken advocate for accountability for the January 6th attackers and has used his platform to discuss the threats to democracy. In July 2021, Fanone testified before Congress about his experience.
