Lost Grace

As Lutherans we claim that everything in our lives can be understood on the basis of six fundamental teachings. 5 of those teachings you hear quite a bit about. They are: The 10 Commandments, The Apostle’s Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. One of the six fundamentals has been set aside. It is one of the means by which Christ delivers his grace. Do you know what it is? Good for you if you can identify this “lost grace” but how much better if we could reclaim it in practice as a congregation! During this penitential season of Advent Pastor Wiist will be providing instruction on the value of Private Confession and Absolution with the goal of reinstituting the practice at the beginning of the new year. Please come and learn more about what we have lost!

November 30th—Confession: The Basics (The Small Catechism)

December 7th—Confession: A Closer Look at the Gift (The Large Catechism)

December 14th--The Rite of Private Confession/Absolution
