Cooper International Academy was in action this weekend November 6, 2022. Cooper Red (High School) played St. Paul High School and Cooper Black (Postgrad) played SCA.

Cooper International Academy Red runs past St. Paul High School in 41-36 win.

Cooper International Academy Red (High School) played St. Paul High School and Showed why Cooper is considered one of the top programs in the country. Cooper Red won 41-36 behind the smooth game time shooting of 6'6" Shooting guard Marial Mayom Malek, the Inside play of 6'10" Junior Jude Oyinmiene Brideba and 6'9" Senior Amar Kadic. Marial Malek showed out again when the team needed him most by hitting two long range 3pt shots and several spinning moves around the basket. His defense was strong posting 3 steals in the second half. Jude Brideba controlled the paint with timely blocks and on offense made a variety of shots down low including a back breaking tip jam in the closing minutes of the second half. Amar Kadic showed his size and skill on the block making several low post moves which led to finishes with the left and right hand for and ones. The team as a whole played the Cooper Brand of Basketball with full court man to man ball pressure, running the floor for fast breaks and shooting from all levels....

COOPER INTERNATIONAL BLACK (POSTGRAD)

Cooper International Academy Black stuns Southern California Academy with a 60-52 win.

Cooper International Academy Black (Postgrad) played Southern California Academy today and showed some growth as a team. Cooper was led by Gordon Gumnok Deng Magok, Peter Obodumu and a trio of good guard play by Task Suzuki, Bartu Atar Tyler Frazier. Cooper Black won 60-52. Gordon Magok controlled the rebound and was a force on the inside while Peter Obodumu hit a number of long range 3pt shots and attacked the basket at will. Our full court pressure led to steals and layups by Bartu, Tyler and Task. all three caused turnovers, hit big shots and dished out assists. The team looks good playing together and the defense is clicking on all cylinders.
