9 Things to Know Before You Attend EDUCON 2022

We are excited to bring you EDUCON 2022 next week! To maximize your conference experience, here's what you need to know:

  1. Plan your schedule. See the schedule-at-a-glance for event times and prepare your personal conference agenda. Remember, all meeting times are listed in Central Time. Attending in person? You'll also receive an EDUCON program, badge and free WiFi details onsite at the registration desk in the Mahogany Foyer. Registration hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
  2. Download presentation files in advance. Check your inbox this week for emails from IEST with PDFs of course materials. If there are technical documents associated with your class, you'll receive an email from Techstreet to access those documents. (You'll need to create a username and password on the Techstreet IEST Bookstore web page to retrieve the documents. Use the same email you entered to register for the class).
  3. Virtual attendees: access the Webex meeting platform and review system requirementsThis week you'll receive emails from Webex and IEST with links to access the classes you registered for. You'll join events through the Webex app or your browser. Learn more
  4. Plan to network. Opportunities to network include: EDUCON After Hours on Nov. 15 and 17 from 5 to 6 p.m., and the Re-Connect EDUCON Networking Reception on Nov. 16 from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Look who's coming!
  5. In-person attendees: review safety protocols. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all event participants and staff. To ensure the safest environment possible, disposable masks will be available at the registration desk and disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the event. Learn more.
  6. Virtual attendees: review the attendee code of conduct. Please read the IEST Virtual Meetings and Training Code of Conduct to ensure the best experience for all attendees.
  7. Attend an in-person Working Group meeting. Members and non-members are invited to see the IEST Recommended Practice development process in action, learn more about topics and technology of interest, and contribute expertise. (After attending 2 consecutive meetings of a Working Group, you can apply to participate as a voting member).
  8. Dress appropriately. Wear whatever makes you comfortable but please make sure it's appropriate for learning and networking.
  9. Share on social media. Use the official event hashtag (#EDUCON22) to share your top takeaways with other professionals. Tag IEST using our respective handles @IEST_standards for Twitter; @iest_standards for Instagram; and @InstituteofEnvironmentalScienceIEST for Facebook or LinkedIn.
