DEAR READERS,

ELP has set the Fall 2022 cohort in motion with full speed, according to the new ELP 2.0 upgrade design where we put even more emphasis on spirituality and personal growth. The opening month has been carefully designed to forge the spirit of the cohort. It has been filled with informative gatherings such as the Inauguration, with an intensive Leadership Training that debated around the definition of leadership and guided the fellows through the initial process of crafting their purpose statement. After the first two weeks that focused more on knowledge sharing, the Fellows spent a weekend on a soul soothing spiritual retreat at Quartier Gallet.

We invite you to join in their experience through the photos they prepared for you.

Welcoming ELP’s 8th Cohort Fall 2022

Saturday, October 8th, was ELP’s Inauguration Day welcoming the new cohort for Fall  2022. The day started with introductions and ended with a beautiful mass held by JESC Director, Filipe Martins sj. We are excited to introduce this promising group of future leaders. The group is composed of 16 Fellows from 9 different countries. Get to know them by reading their bios here.

A first of many leadership trainings

A leadership training was conducted by Dr. Dave Houglum, Director of Leadership in the Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Portland, and Taireeez Niswander, Vice President of Operations at Govology. The training was made up of three sessions; “Uncovering leadership values, purpose and legacy,” “Strengths-based leadership and inner critic awareness,” and “Servant leadership, accompaniment and leading with love.” These included a number of activities and discussions to enhance each individual’s potential as a leader. Moreover, Fellows got the opportunity to take adapted personalised tests such as the Clifton Strengths Assessment and the Positive Intelligence test which measure areas of one’s natural strengths and how your mind adapts to such.

A time for reflection- Fellows’ retreat at Quartier Gallet, Beauraing

From 21-23 October, the Fellows attended their first retreat in Quartier Gallet guided by Filipe Martins SJ, Director of JESC, and Michael Kuhn (title). The main goal of this retreat was to take time away from their busy lives, share their space with and learn from the La Viale community living there, gain insights on faith and ignatian spirituality, and more importantly reflect on their lives and purposes in order to create a Personal Mission Plan. Each Personal Mission Plan expresses a commitment to the European common good which the Fellows intend to pursue throughout the next 5-months of the programme. The results of such an enriching and challenging process will be presented at the end of the progamme by each Fellow.
