GAMES HUB NEWS

Ultraleap Fellowship in Residence

Watershed have launched their Fellowship in residence prototyping hand tracking gestures for home VR gaming. The Fellowship is part of MyWorld and will take place at Ultraleap and the Pervasive Media Studio.

Ultraleap is a world leader in hand tracking and haptic technologies, which allow you to engage with the digital world naturally, without touching surfaces.

With hand tracking now built into widely VR headsets, VR games that use hand tracking are only just beginning to find their feet. What interactions and mechanics are rising to the top? Is there a common design language being formed? How can we push this language further, and help developers to make great, “hand-tracking first” games?

If these kind of questions interest you and you are an artist, user experience designer, technologist or creative practitioner with C# programming and Unity experience, this Fellowship is a great opportunity to spend ten months collaborating and experimenting.

Read more about Fellowship below:

£20,000 for 10 months at roughly 2.5 days/week. Apply by Mon 14 Nov.

The Fellowship is an opportunity to support experimentation, explore the ethical development questions that arise and spend time thinking about how to create meaningful experiences for audiences, ask questions and test high-risk ideas.
