You are encouraged to come take part in the full day of programming with us! But, there is also the option to pop in from 3pm to 6pm for Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL)'s Compassion Training and our Closing Reception hosted by TAPA.

The training, led by PAAL's founder Rachel Spencer Hewitt, explores how to create a culture of support for employees with caregiver responsibilities. Stay for the reception to chat with fellow conference attendees and presenters!

In advance of A Conference of Care, we are really excited to host two online Affinity Groups, opportunities for conversations about art and care in a peer support environment.

On Monday November 14, the All Parents/Caregivers Affinity Group will feature Guest Artists the sense archive: Ruth Douthwright, Sally Morgan, and Jessica Winton. 

the sense archive is interested in exploring, reading, and transcribing the body as the site of the narratives that shape us as artists/mothers. They will beam in live from Welland, Ontario where they are in residence at Femmes de Feu's The Bank Art House with additional support from Dancemakers.

Balancing Act is hosting an IBPOC Parents/Caregivers Group on Tuesday November 15.

It will be facilitated by 
Ella Cooper whose multidisciplinary arts practice explores the diaspora, positive representations of the Black body in Canada, equity and arts for social change, oral traditions and hybrid identity. Active Listener Blessyl Buan and Balancing Act's Saba Akhtar will be present to offer additional support to the group.
