Annelise here, just reminding you (in case you could forget!?) that election day is one week away. Our community has some big decisions to make and we want you to be prepared to vote, whether you drop your ballot in the mailbox or visit the polls in person. Cue our 2022 Voter Guide ✨
Voter turnout is often the lowest in non-presidential election years, even though the decisions local politicians make often have the biggest impact on our daily lives.
By flipping the script in our election coverage we hope we will inspire you to take action. We've asked our readers what they want to know about the issues that matter to them and brought those issues directly to the candidates. (Literally, we put out a survey, and then met with candidates one by one.)
We hope you'll take advantage of the resources we've been building.
Our guide includes:
🤝 Meet the Candidates - Redding City Council and Shasta County Board of Supervisors
Regardless of how or who you vote for, Shasta Scout is here to help you make informed decisions on the ballot and empower you to connect with your community. We'll be publishing almost daily in this last week leading up to the elections, so make sure to check back in and share with friends and family.
Plus, want the real inside scoop? Subscribe to our text alerts to get up-to-date information straight to your phone. We’ll update you from the polls on election day, covering candidate forums and more.
Forging ahead,
