We acknowledge that MCC is on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Pennacook, also called the Merrimac, people of the Abenaki Confederacy. They are still here. We reaffirm our commitment to and responsibility for understanding and honoring the peoples and history of the land we live and work on.
Join us for a presentation from archaeologist Robert Goodby, Professor of Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University. In 2009, a Paleoindian archaeological site was discovered in Keene, NH. The remarkably intact site produced evidence of four separate dwellings containing over 200 stone tools and fragments of burned animal bone. These early people, rather than being isolated stone-age nomads, were part of a social network that extended across much of northeastern North America.
