New Trail Bridge Afoot in Runnemede Lake Park |

Building Bridges |
The bridge building in RLP began with a temporary patchwork of dilapidated palette boards scattered across a span of muddy terrain — and a vision for something better. |
| Runnemede resident and long-time supporter of Reimagine Runnemede, Ed White (gray shirt), volunteered to lead the work crew on a series of builds. Here, Ed and Ken Leap, President of Reimagine Runnemede, frame out the beginnings of a permanent 50-foot boardwalk. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Ed for volunteering and overseeing the bridge build providing access to the 18-acre park.

A perfect day for bridge building — thanks to the spectacular October weather and a motivated crew. Photo: (left to right): David Steinberg, VP Reimagine Runnemede, Ken Leap President Reimagine Runnemede and Deb Schmidt, RR volunteer, waving in the background. We would also like to thank Council President Patti Passio for helping secure the grant — we hope we can secure the permits needed so we can use the remaining grant money to build the other bridge that crosses the creek. 1000 Spring Bulbs Planted at Labyrinth Peace Park |
Volunteers gathered at the labyrinth and planted close to 1000 “Glory of the Snow” bulbs. The planting was timed to bloom for the Spring Equinox on March 20, 2023. |

The ground was surprisingly hard considering we had a week of rain a few days before. Trowels gave way to a pickax to get the job done. |
The next step is encouraging the woods to "reforest" in a swath between the labyrinth and the basketball courts. We are looking for a planting crew to transplant seedlings from the woods. To volunteer call David Steinberg at 856-383-5325. Come join us! |

ANNOUNCEMENTS |

Reimagine Runnemede - presents - “Re-Imagining Black Horse Pike” |
Things are looking up for our Black Horse Pike Business District. First, Runnemede has a new Chamber of Commerce. AND NOW, MORE EXCITING THINGS ARE COMING!
The Community Design Collaborative (CDC) - part of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) - is partnering with Reimagine Runnemede to offer their Pro Bono Design and Consulting Services for BHP (Black Horse Pike) businesses from NJ TPK Exit #3 to Clements Bridge Road. In 2019, Runnemede Council designated this area a 'Redevelopment Zone’ and specifically set aside money as part of the Facade Grant Program whereby matching grants up to $5,000 can be provided. The CDC will be looking at the entire corridor of the BHP as a unit to explore how we can make this part of town a destination, instead of a pass through for over 20,000 vehicles per day. We will be working with the Borough, the Chamber of Commerce, and residents to figure out how we all can Re-Imagine the BHP to make it an exciting and lively place that attracts people to spend their time here with us. After all, aren't we worth it? |

Last year, Reimagine Runnemede held our first ever ‘Giving Tuesday’ campaign. Our goal was to raise $2000.00, which we exceeded by raising a grand total of $2830.00. This money helped Reimagine Runnemede to make improvements to the Labyrinth at Venella Park: install Benches, a Donor Wall and Plaques and pay stipends to the Mural Artists (during the mural project’s request for qualification period), and more. This year our goal is to raise $2500. Please consider making a gift. |
