I hope that you all had a beautiful holiday season, it is hard to believe that January is wrapping up already. UCLA GIMHSR continues to thrive on all fronts and the newsletter only highlights only a small number of all of our numerous accomplishments.
The bibliography of new publications is very emblematic of the depth and reach of the research in our division and I want to take a moment to congratulate everyone who has had publications in the last month.
I hope to see many of you at the upcoming DOM Retreat and would like to personally thank Janet Pregler, Behi Rabbani (Division of Cardiology), Arielle Sommer, and members of the DMPG Board, including GIMHSR members Josh Khalili, Linda Czypinski (Section of Hospital Medicine) and Gifty Ntim (Section of Med Peds) for all of their work and the careful thought that they have put into planning such an important set of activities for all of us.
Cheers, Carol

DOMStat Data Core Launches
Dr. Yusuke Tsugawa (Associate Professor of GIM-HSR and Director of DOMStat Data Core), and Dr. David Elashoff (Professor of Medicine and Director of DOMStat) have launched DOMStat Data Core, a comprehensive platform for investigators to store, analyze, and share secondary datasets.
Data Core offers a secure, HIPPA-compliant server equipped with statistical software such as SAS, Stata, and R, as well as administrative support (IRB, DUA, etc.), data management and programming assistance, and opportunities for faculty collaboration on research projects.
It currently hosts four databases: 100% Medicare claims data from 2016-2020, HCUP SID&SEDD from several states and years, Merative MarketScan data, and SEER-Medicare.
These databases can be accessed free of charge by any faculty and trainees affiliated with DOM. To access these databases, please contact datacoresupport@mednet.ucla.edu.
