Description: Our presenter, Howard Hayes, a long-standing FTA member, recently returned from a Road Scholar arranged, six-day trip to Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, Maine. This included sea kayaking, hiking the trails, and biking the carriage roads, as well as informative presentations on local history and subjects. This insightful presentation will focus on the trails and carriage roads in the national park. It will also include some local history and other things that may be of interest. We’ll learn a bit about the Roads Scholars Program. Social time starts at 6:30 pm, the meeting opens at 7.
Howard has been an FTA member for over 35 years. After retiring from the Department of Environmental in March 2020, he has maintained an active outdoor lifestyle. Whether he is the Activity leader or an active participant, he always makes special contributions based on his years of experience and knowledge.
