Just as all students are wonderful and unique, so are their needs for support during the difficult high school and pre-college years. Each year, all federally funded colleges must send data to the U.S. Department of Education on how many applications they received. A new change could force colleges to focus on applications that were left unfinished and look into students’ barriers to completion. 

Ever heard of the C.D.S? It stands for Common Data Set, and it’s a huge data document that many schools post on their websites and submit to ranking bodies like U.S. News & World Report, including all sorts of statistics about the school and its students. But some schools are choosing not to share.
