Introducing our 20th Anniversary Competition 

To celebrate 20 Years of Volunteering at Royal Holloway, our Hub Assistants have been busy organising a Volunteering Competition for clubs and societies to get involved with. The society or sports club who has dedicated the most hours to volunteering sessions between Monday 7 November until Wednesday 7 December will receive a prize!

will be hosting across the competition dates. If you are interested in getting involved with the competition as a society or club then please email us to find out how to get involved.  

This is just the first of a number of events that will be taking place this academic year to celebrate Royal Holloway Volunteering's 20th anniversary!

Community Action

Swim Session Assistants Needed

Egham Constellations are currently looking for Swim Assistants to help run their disability swim club, which takes place at the Egham Orbit Leisure Centre on Tuesday mornings. Duties include helping attendees and being part of the Exercise Team. Check out the opportunity on our online platform

Shop Volunteers Needed

The Princess Alice Hospice in Egham urgently requires volunteers to help run the shop floor during mornings and afternoons. Duties include pricing goods and serving shop customers. No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided. Find out more about this opportunity on the online platform.  

Become a Reading Volunteer

Bookmark are currently looking for a reading volunteer to help schoolchildren improve their reading skills. This role will require you to attend short sessions twice a week for several weeks. This is a flexible opportunity and all training will be provided. Please visit our online platform to find out more

Nature Conservation Introductory Session

Nature Conservation are running a short introductory event on Wednesday 9 November at 11am, in Windsor Building Room 0-03. This session will be a great chance to find out about the great projects that the Nature Conservation team will be organising throughout the upcoming year. Find more information online
 

Love In A Box Appeal

Our Love In A Box team are still accepting donations for their Love In A Box Appeal, with donations being accepted until Friday 11 November. Donations can be dropped off at the Volunteering Hub. If you would like to fill a box with donations, then please visit the Love In A Box table in the Davison Building. Find out more about the appeal here

Thames 21 

Thames 21 are currently looking for volunteers to join their upcoming session taking place on Wednesday 9 November from 2-4:30pm. Volunteers will be helping to clear the environment and helping to introduce new plants and wildlife to the habitat. Previous experience is not necessary - find out more here

Community Research

Opportunity with Active Surrey

In partnership with Surrey County Council, Active Surrey are looking for an individual to research and analyse the social impact of their Covid-19 response projects. These projects were aimed at those who were more likely to suffer long-term effects of coronavirus. Please visit the online platform for more information. 

Sports Volunteering 

Drop-In Session with Divine from Sports

Divine will be in the Volunteering Hub on Tuesday 8 November between 1-4pm to answer any questions that you might have about Sports Volunteering at Royal Holloway. Find out more about the opportunities available here

EcoSwell, who work to create sustainable projects across the globe, have a number of opportunities for students to get involved with. From volunteering as a Research Volunteer to working to restore ecosystems as an Ecosystem Restoration and Reforestation Volunteer, there are a number of ways to get involved. Campus Sleep - Out 2023

The Homeless Project are currently organising a campus Sleep -Out for 2023, to help raise awareness of the issues faced by homeless individuals in the UK and beyond. This event will take place overnight from Saturday 4 February at 7pm until 7am the following day. Find out more about this event on the online platform

Our Christmas Team are busy organising a Santa's Workshop event to take place before the end of term. The Santa's Workshop project helps to collect gifts for elderly and vulnerable people who are facing loneliness this Christmas. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
