SIX NEW TRUSTEES ELECTED TO THE UCAR BOARD

VT logoWe are excited to welcome six new trustees and one new member institution to UCAR.

The new trustees are Carol Anne Clayson, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution; Tracey Holloway, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Marilyn Rafael, University of California, Los Angeles; Patty Leslie, Attainment Network; Bob Litterman, Kepos Capital; and Makenzie Lystrup, most recently of Ball Aerospace.

UCAR's new member institution is Virginia Tech.

UCAR's Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth System Science (CPAESS) is accepting applications for the new Weather Program Office's Innovation for Next Generation Scientist (WINGS) Fellowship. The WINGS Fellowship is designed for Ph.D. candidates who have completed their required coursework and are in the beginning stages of writing a dissertation. Fellows will work with their academic advisor and a mentor recommended by WPO and CPAESS to provide  guidance during the dissertation process. This inaugural award year will focus on research relevant to NOAA’s Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) Program mission. Applications are due January 27, 2023.
Applications for the 2023 NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship program are due January 4, 2023.
November's CPAESS Discovery Seminar Series will take place November 16 at 11 am MT and feature Kathy Tedesco and Cheyenne Stienbarger from NOAA’s Global Ocean Monitoring and Observing Program.
