For All the Saints
This Sunday, November 6, we celebrate All Saints Sunday. During the worship service, we will take time to remember St. John’s members and our own loved ones who have died in Christ and are now at rest. You are invited to bring a photo or memento of your loved one to church. You will have the opportunity to come forward and place your memento on the table by the altar, pray, and light a candle in their memory.

Generosity Sunday Next Weekend
As part of our Stewardship Season, we have been focusing for the past few weeks on how we connect with God, with one another, and with the world through the ministries of St. John’s. In order to continue this vital work of cultivating sacred connections, we need to increase donations by $700 per week in 2023. Our Church Council has already submitted their commitment cards, and we have a combined increase of $84 per week from this group. Thank you, Council! You will receive a letter in the mail this week inviting you join the Council in growing in generosity next year. We hope that you will pray about this request, reflect on what St. John’s means to you, and ponder how God might be calling you to more fully align your financial practices with your values. Please complete your commitment card and bring it to worship for Generosity Sunday on November 13. Thank you!
Thanksgiving Multifaith Service: Call for Singers
On Tuesday, November 22, the New Trier Multifaith Alliance will be holding a Thanksgiving service at 7:30 pm at Winnetka Congregational Church (725 Pine Street, Winnetka). All are invited to attend! They are also inviting any singers or choir members from local churches to participate in the choir for the service. There will be a rehearsal that night at 6:30 pm, followed by the service. Music can be sent out ahead of time. If you are interested, please contact Luke Duroc-Danner (luke@stjohnswilmette.com) to receive more information or to register to participate.
Lakeshore Brass in Concert
This December, St. John’s will be hosting the Lakeshore Brass Ensemble for a special Christmas concert on Sunday, December 18th at 3 pm. This concert is supported by the Aylesworth Music Fund at St. John’s. More information about the program and reserving seating will be coming soon!
Seeking Children’s Church Volunteers
We are fortunate to have a very vibrant Sunday School program going this year, and we are looking for volunteers who would be interested in teaching or assisting with Children’s Church. If you’re interested, please sign up here. If you would like to learn more information about the curriculum and what a typical lesson looks like, please reach out to the Youth Ministry Team (Luke & Erin Rasmussen and Jason Shutters).
