Major Blue and Yellow Line Construction

Stations Reopening This Sunday!

Get ready for all six closed Blue and Yellow line stations to reopen this Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022.

Rail Service Returns

  • All stations will reopen on Nov. 6, and service will resume south of Reagan National Airport
  • No Yellow Line service will continue through May 2023
  • Blue Line trains will operate between Downtown Largo and Franconia-Springfield, and between Huntington and New Carrollton (see map for more info)

Free Shuttle Bus Service Changes

Starting Nov. 6, the Blue and Yellow Line Express and Local shuttles will be discontinued since rail service will be available at all stations.

We will continue to provide three limited-stop DC-VA shuttles crossing the Potomac River during weekday rush hours.

Parking & Free Service Information

Also, keep in mind that there are some parking and service changes beginning Nov. 6:
  • There will no longer be free parking at any Metro stations; however, the non-rider parking fee will be waived at Franconia-Springfield until May 2023
  • Metroway service will no longer be free
  • VRE service will no longer be free
