Cold Hardiness Monitoring - Back again for 2022-2023!

WSU Viticulture will continue with grape cold hardiness monitoring for the 2022-2023 winter season.   Observed cold hardiness data for the Prosser, WA area is updated approximately every 7-14 days at: https://wine.wsu.edu/extension/weather/cold-hardiness/

This webpage also has several resources on preventing cold damage and how to respond after cold damage has occurred.

Given cold hardiness monitoring cannot be done on a large scale, a cold hardiness model is available on AgWeatherNet.  You do need a (free!) registered AgWeatherNet Account to see the model:  http://weather.wsu.edu/

There is also an upcoming workshop regarding a new potential management tool for reducing cold damage risk; see the Events Calendar below for more information.

Fine-tuning Soil Health - A Blog Series

WSU's Andrew McGuire has a series of articles on soil health, and how to understand recent trends in discussing, measuring, and interpreting soil health-related information.  Check out those blog posts at: https://csanr.wsu.edu/author/amcguire-2/
