Greetings to you from Gembu!
The summer went very quickly for us and I was amazed when I looked back and saw that the last update was in July!
We had a busy time in the States! We visited all of our Midwest Partnering churches, prepared more items for the container, and got to visit a couple of new churches that are not currently partnering with us. On October 7 Dan got to officiate the wedding of our niece, Selena. It was a very special family time for all of us, and I was so thankful we got to be there for the celebration. We packed our bags and headed to the Erickson B&B on October 14. They took us to the airport very early morning of the 15 (3:30 am) and we arrived at our Gembu home on the afternoon of October 20. It is quite the trip, but it was a safe journey for which we are so thankful!
We have a new prayer coordinator who is preparing for monthly Zoom prayer gatherings covering the ministry with prayer. Her name is Sandra Putnam and we are so excited! God has prepared her and she is passionate about prayer! Please email Sandra if you would like to be a part of our monthly prayer time. Her email is: waputnam@aol.com . We are so thankful because we have realized that we need a regular prayer covering as we are moving in on Satan’s work here. It is imperative for us!
We got back to Gembu to discover that once again our staff has grown and handled things very well in our absence physically from here. They applied for and received some grants and the other work in the compound and community. Lady and Lionel had 6 beautiful puppies about 2 weeks old and now have their eyes open and are shakily walking about.
The past two weeks we have spent getting caught up on what has happened met with our leadership team on our next steps forward and had a Zoom Africa Team meeting. We brought back some computer supplies and cameras in our luggage and so Dan and Dauda, (our resident computer guru) have been installing new security cameras, running cable, and planning on how our computer systems can be best optimized.
The Bible study group on Thursdays is now making plans for how we move forward in discipleship making and how we make that more a part of our lives on a daily basis as well. We will have our last week of the Zume Discipleship Training on November 17.
Because of the global economy, items in the market are very high and people are even more in need than ever. Please pray for Nigeria.
We have had constant generator issues, please pray that they can be resolved well, our mechanic is very tired as it has been having trouble at all hours of the day and night!
Effective November 1, 2022, If you are a ministry partner that gives by mailing a check (or using bank autopay to send a check) you will need to update the address to which payments are sent. The new address is:
Converge
Dept # 9930
PO Box 850001
Orlando, FL 32885-9930
This month, the enclosed return envelope donors receive with their monthly giving statement will have the new address.

Our Staff Person of the Month is Ateyo. Ateyo was hired very recently to work on one of our new grants. He is a single young man that has been working here at GECHAAN with RISE (a Non-profit that works with AIDS). He is a very welcome addition to our staff. Please pray for him and the rest of the team as we move forward with advancing His kingdom here in Gembu.
