Happy Halloween y'all. Nothing spooky here. Nope. Just a little old volcano back there.

Now, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know,
where I'm a gonna go when the volcano blow...

 - J. Buffet

After at least 800 years of dormancy Mt Edgecumbe - our local landmark - decided to rumble a bit. Sounds like it's just a little rumble, but -

Boo!

The winter projects will just have to wait. It's time to go play in the leaves.

Fall is a little warmer and a bit sunnier in Sitka so far this year. Don't get us wrong, we've had some fun fall gales roll in, but it's been fairly nice. We both hope your autumn is filled with pumpkin spice, fall color, and wrapped in a comfy sweater.

The semi-annual trip to Warm Springs Bay to drop off former BOB owners Rick (seen here keeping an eye on the cats - Thelma and Louise) and Jen's stuff. The cockpit got taken over by a kitty castle and we're definitely okay with that.

Blain was sailing solo coming back and he finally realized how much Monique does to keep him on the rails. He spotted orcas, whales, and bears and made it safely back to the slip. Whew.
This year the Sitka Whalefest is happening again  It's November 3rd-6th and features education sessions and lots of fun things to do. We are rarely ever bored in Sitka - as it's a very busy little town.
Our great friends from Anchorage, Megan and Travis came down for a conference and stayed long enough to take a fun adventure on BOB to Goddard Hot Springs south of Sitka. A complimentary fireworks show from a fellow boat capped it off.
Monique spent a few weeks in Arkansas and enjoyed some time with her dad and stepmom. Our hearts are certainly with them and even more so as the holidays approach.
Blain is helping out on local trails again this fall, but is doing more office work than pulaski work. We both enjoyed a lovely dive here in Sitka, and are excited to have another winter hobby to keep active. The water actually gets clearer and it really doesn't get a lot more cold. Honest. This swimming scallop with a barnacle helmet cracked up us.
The Halloween bug gets us and Sitka is always up for a dress-up party. The annual Stardust Ball was held again after a two-year break. We had a lot to celebrate as a town and anyway every event really just needs more cowbell!
A few trips are still open in the 2023 season including a prime July Glacier Bay trip. This is the busy time for bookings, so be sure to get a hold of us soon if you are interested in sailing with us.
No winter plans are really in the works, but if we wind up in your neck of the woods, we'd love to meet up for a coffee.
