First Impressions

What will people think as they come and see us worship, sing, interact with one another, teach children, serve each other and respond to the presence of God as we hear the Word preached faithfully? Will they be distracted away from God by what we do, or will our efforts make it plain that God is with us? Pray for our first impressions this week. Pray that our efforts to welcome people will cause them to consider the value of following our Saviour.

Small Groups

"And all who believed were together and had all things in common." (Acts 2:44) Small groups are a continuation of the spiritual renewal that began in the first century church. Groups are not academic huddles, nor are they simply meant to give us a social life. Groups are formed because we've been changed by the gospel and the Holy Spirit draws us together into expressions of Christ's body called the church. Pray for groups this week. Ask God to remind his people of all that has been done to lead them together.

Jesus rules and reigns on his throne! Praise the Lord for his sovereignty and strength. Pray that our students grow in their appreciation for what that truth means for them every day, and that they would delight themselves in him anew every morning!

Harvest Kids: As we share the account of Noah with the kids, pray that they truly hear about his faithfulness and obedience to an all powerful God who desires us to be holy, as he is holy.

Awana: Pray for the health of our team and families. May God strengthen each one of us as we seek to love one another well.

City Chapel (Red Deer, AB) - Praise God that over the past couple of years this church has seen new people come to faith in Jesus and start attending. Pray for the discipleship of these new believers. Pray for wisdom and perseverance for the elders, deacons and ministry leaders as they continue to serve the church and reach out to their community.

Harvest Ayr - Join with Luke and Cam Dugard as they praise God for a safe journey to Scotland and for a relatively easy transition for them and Wren. Pray with them for a permanent place to live for their year there. And pray for Pastor Lee and the leadership team of this church plant as they do the hard work of getting all aspects of the ministry in place throughout this first year.
