Always Present
A Word From Pastor Alvin
How comforting it is to be told again and again in Scripture about how the Lord is always with us. In our Daniel series we have seen God with Daniel and his three friends from the exile, interpreting dreams, and even in the midst of persecution. God caused the officials to show favor and compassion to Daniel, and the Lord gave the four young men knowledge and the ability to understand all kinds of literature and learning.
They opposed the king’s decrees refusing to worship in a way that would have dishonored God. Because they loved the Lord and remained faithful even to the point of death, God saved them from the fiery furnace, and had prevented Daniel from becoming a snack to a den full of hungry lions. “My God sent His angel, and He shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in His sight” (Daniel 6:22).
What a consolation, that the Lord would view each of us as precious objects of His grace, that He would send His Spirit to dwell in our hearts. “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth” (John 14:16).
This world is filled with so much grief…
Some nights are hard to get to sleep…
We pray for ways to find relief…
We need the Lord our Shepherd Chief…
The Lord who cares, is always near…
The Spirit of God is always here…
He’s there when times grow troublesome…
So cast your loads when cumbersome…
Upon the Lord, for He does hear…
The Lord who cares, is always near…
The Lord Jesus is always here…
He will not leave, nor will He forsake…
Our God is here and here to stay…
He has not changed and remains the same…
Jesus is present in our hearts today.
Comfort to all who are of The Way…
