Happy Friday!

This weekend we celebrate All Saints Day. During service we will remember the faithful departed who have gone to be with the Lord in the past year. Pastor Belt did a mini-service on actual All Saints Day (November 1) on Facebook. You can watch it here.

It's Daylight Saving Time again. Make sure to set your clocks back an hour before bed Saturday night.

Thank you to everyone who donated to Operation Christmas Child! The children will be filling shoeboxes this Sunday. They will be dedicated during service the following week and then delivered to the local drop-off location.

We are once again doing a seven week Advent, which means it starts this weekend. Why seven weeks? For one, this was the historic practice of the Church and our lectionary readings still reflect this. For another, it allows us to enjoy a more reflective Advent season (which covers not only the build up to Jesus' first coming at Christmas, but also looks forward to his second coming on the last day) before the busyness of the secular Christmas season takes over.  It also mimics the 7 weeks of Lent leading up to Easter.

We are in need of a few donations for Bethlehem Walk. See below for details.

Upcoming dates to know:
November 9 & 10 - Advent Starts
December 2- 3 - Bethlehem Walk

Happy All Saints!
All Jr and Sr High Youth are welcome to join Tammy for Bible Study after the Sunday School Hour (11:30am-12:30pm).
We had a lot of fun at last week's pancake breakfast! Thank you to the elders for putting it on!
Our Operation Christmas Child coordinators were sorting all of the donations last week. From the excess monetary donations they were able to go buy what we were short on. The Sunday School children will be filling shoeboxes this weekend.
Our 7 weeks of Advent start Wednesday (on November 9). Join us for midweek services either Wednesday morning at 9am or Thursday evening at 6:30pm. These services are different than Sunday, so we encourage you to attend both. It's a great way prepare for Christmas.
Join Yvonne for Bible Study on Tuesdays at 3pm. We will be starting a new 4 week study for Advent beginning Tuesday, November 22nd called The Case for Christmas.  In The Case for Christmas, Lee Strobel investigates the story of Jesus' birth and reveals how we can know it is true. He examines the Bible's claim that Jesus was born of a virgin, some of the "puzzles" we find in the Gospel that don’t seem to match up with the historical record, and the great mystery of the incarnation - how Jesus could be both fully God and fully human. Please let the office or Yvonne know by November 8th if you will be attending this study so that we be sure to have enough study guides ordered.
We are taking a trip to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum next summer. You can find the flier with more information in the Narthex. Price is per person based on the number of people you have in your room. There is a lot of interest, so make sure to sign-up on the table in the Narthex soon.

The Bethlehem Walk is back! It will be December 2 and 3 from 4-7pm. Lots of volunteers are needed to make it happen. If you can help, please let Tammy or the office know ASAP. Work nights will be held November 15 and 22 from 6-8pm. Set-up is November 26 at 9am.

Donations needed: Scotch brand packaging tape, bottles of water, snack-sized zip lock bags, royal blue or white craft paint, monetary donations to buy ingredients for bakery.

“These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
