Where Is The Favorites File for Sage 100 Stored?
Sage 100 allows all users to create shortcuts to their favorite tasks. In version 2022 these favorites can also be public and shared with other users.
During upgrades it's possible to lose those favorites. We've received a few calls with users noticing that favorites are missing after uninstalling and reinstalling the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100
Thankfully if you still have access to the prior Sage 100 setup then you should be able to copy and paste that favorite file from the old location to the new location and bring back all your favorites. Here's how.
Note: This applies to those using the Standard Desktop view (not the Classic Desktop view, which does not use Favorites)
Sage 100 2021 and Lower:
Prior to uninstalling and reinstalling the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100 on a machine, back up the Workstation Setup client install's "Sage 100" folder and its contents to another location. The "Sage 100" folder is found in "C:\Users\<Windows logon>\Documents" (or "My Documents" if on Windows 7).
After uninstalling and reinstalling the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100, rename the Favorites.json file found in "C:\Users\<Windows logon>\Documents\Sage 100" (or "My Documents\Sage 100" if on the obsolete Windows 7), and copy in the backup Favorites.json file in its place.
Sage 100 2022+
In Sage 100 2022, Public Favorites have been added.
there is a \MAS90\Favorites\ folder on server with folders created for each Windows user - \MAS90\Favorites\<Windows User>\ that contains a Favorites.JSON.
There is a also a \MAS90\Favorites\public.favorites.json file containing Public Favorites new category.

Disabling Automatic Update of Daily Transaction Register
Beginning with Sage 100 v2019.2
A security event has been added to Role Maintenance that allows you to automatically update the Daily Transaction Register without receiving a prompt.
For any series of journal and register updates that concludes with the Daily Transaction Register, you will not receive a prompt to print and update the register if the security event check box is selected for your role. The Daily Transaction Register will be printed and updated automatically.
In some (many) cases your users will be surprised by this new feature. If you wish to disable the automatic update of the Daily Transaction Register then you can remove the checkmark for the "Allow Automatic Update of Daily Transaction Register" within Library Master - Security - Role Maintenance.
The security event has been added for the following modules:

Bank Code Blank in Bank Reconciliation
Several Sage consultants have reported customer calls about the Bank Reconciliation Bank Code Maintenance suddenly reporting a blank value where the bank code normally would be seen.
This seems to be prevalent in versions 2021 and higher even when all patches have been applied. So far there doesn't seem to be a fix.

TLS 1.2 Compliance Update for Sage 100
Sage released an updated chart showing versions of Sage 100 compatible with an upcoming change at Sage.
Beginning in October 2023, Sage License Servers ( SLS ) will no longer accept communication using the less secure TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols. This means if your Sage 100 version is not at least one of those listed below you'll want to upgrade before October 2023.
After October 2023 if your Sage 100 ( subscription ) is not at one of the supported versions shown below your data may go into a read-only mode once your systems fails to login to SLS.
My suggestion is you set a goal to stay within 2 versions of the current release which is Sage 100 2022.

A Tale of Two Reports: Staff-Oriented & Management-Oriented
Staff-oriented reports: (‘Sales Order Processing’, ‘Pending Shipments’, and ‘Stock Status’) work like microscopes + they provide each staff member with insight into their daily business activities. These staff-oriented reports are typically included in your ERP solution.
However . . . these reports are of little help to managers.
Management -Oriented reports: KPIs showing which products are selling better, which sales reps are doing worse and why.
That's where DataSelf can help Sage 100 companies just like yours ( Read How )
